Out In The Country

On November 4, 2010 by Doc DW Perry

Queasy Joe left that ole city behind this week to join me at the country retreat I share with Mrs Doc DW. Here we selected the finest hand-picked slices of roots music, smoked them lovingly over pure, digitising woodsmoke, and packed them between diverting and entertaining pallets of witty banter. This latest shipment of 50 Miles of Elbow Room will be aired this coming Sunday, the 7th, and features the usual range of rootsy gems, from English singer-songwriters to Malian pop bands. There might also be Americana, this week in the form of Pokey LaFarge, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Mary Chapin Carpenter and everything in between. We had a blast distilling it – gulp it on down, guys and gals.

You’ll be able to listen live at rhubarbradio.com – and listen back at the archive. The setlist will be posted here as usual, too.

In the meantime, comment here if you can remember which Blind Blake songs we’ve played. We’ve totally forgotten.

  • I don’t remember us ever playing any Blind Blake songs…we should remedy this by playing his whole back catalogue
